Our Reality Today
At StormToStudio, everything begins with truth. This is my life right now—an empty freezer, no working oven, and most days no real food. Because I cannot afford groceries, I often eat one small meal a day, and sometimes that meal is nothing more than a single can of vegetables from a church food pantry I used to visit back when I still had a working car. Now I can’t get there because I have no transportation. Friends and family won’t give me rides unless I pay them gas money, and I simply don’t have it.
As a diabetic, eating this way is dangerous. My sugar stays high because I cannot afford healthy food, fresh meals, or consistent nutrition. I’m constantly battling weakness, dizziness, and exhaustion simply because I can’t eat what I need to survive safely.
I also wash clothes by hand in the bathtub because I have no washer or dryer. My oven doesn’t work, so even if I had food, I couldn’t cook properly. These hardships are not easy to admit, but they are part of my daily reality.
StormToStudio is my only hope to rebuild. It’s how I’m trying to survive.

I live with multiple chronic health conditions: diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, stroke complications, and mobility challenges. I rely on medications every day, and missing doses puts my life at risk. But without transportation, it’s often impossible to pick up prescriptions or attend medical appointments.
My eyeglasses are broken, and I have no way to get to an eye doctor. This makes reading, creating art, and even moving around my home difficult and unsafe.
Despite everything, art is what keeps me going. Creating digital designs is something I can still do even when my body won’t cooperate. It gives me purpose and helps me fight through the fear, the hunger, and the loneliness.
StormToStudio was born out of necessity, faith, and survival.
